Attend a virtual ASQ Training Institute from the comfort of your own home or office and learn everything you need to know to instruct your colleagues in using Ages & Stages Questionnaires ®, Third Edition (ASQ ®-3), and Ages & Stages Questionnaires ®: Social-Emotional, Second Edition (ASQ ®:SE-2).
This 3-day interactive training provided via Zoom shows you how to
- implement ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2 effectively
- score questionnaires and interpret results
- discuss results sensitively with families
- understand the referral process
- utilize the flexibility of ASQ to enhance cultural responsivity
- teach others in your organization how to successfully use ASQ-3 & ASQ:SE-2
Who should attend?
Intermediate to advanced ASQ ® users who already oversee ASQ implementation and ASQ training within their organization; participants will leave the Institute prepared to instruct colleagues on ASQ-3 and/or ASQ:SE-2. This training is not intended for beginner ASQ users. (Please visit our Comprehensive ASQ-3 & ASQ:SE-2 Institute which is better suited for beginner ASQ users.) All participants will receive valuable information to advance their skill level and knowledge of the tools.
About the training
During the virtual Institute, you’ll receive video instruction from an ASQ expert and participate in interactive break-out sessions with other training participants. You’ll receive practice forms, case studies, and a binder with handouts for conducting trainings within your organization.
Upon your successful completion of the Institute, a certificate of attendance and a unique link of training materials will be sent by email. Read our Terms of Use to learn more about how you can use the training binder and training materials after completion of the Institute.
CEUs are now being offered for a fee through Loyola University Maryland–ASPIRE for participants who successfully complete the ASQ-3 & ASQ:SE-2 Training of Trainers Institute.

Meet the Trainers
Jantina Clifford, Ph.D.
Jantina Clifford, Ph.D., is a member of the Ages & Stages International Research team and has been involved in developing and evaluating early childhood assessment measures for over 20 years. She has participated in the ongoing research and development of ASQ products and other measures, including the AEPS and SEAM. Dr. Clifford also provides training and technical assistance on using ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2 in diverse health, educational, and social service settings across the U.S. and internationally.
Jane Farrell, M.S.
Jane Farrell, M.S., retired after 25 years as a child development specialist who provided direct services to children 0-5 with delays and disabilities and their families. Her roles included developing specialized programming and providing consultation and community-wide training relating to early intervention and early childhood special education. She worked in both overseas military communities and Lane County, Oregon. For 30 years, she has contributed as a member of the ASQ training and development team, designing and conducting extensive training on ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2 with multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse programs and systems across the U.S. and Canada.

Kristin Funk, M.A., LCSW
Kristin Funk, M.A., LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in private practice. In addition to conducting regular training on the ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE, she has worked on and coordinated several community-based systems-change grants and research projects. Her projects include Project SEAM: Preventing Behavior Disorders and Improving Social-Emotional Competence in Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities, a five-year research project to conduct psychometric studies for validation of the Social-Emotional Assessment/Evaluation Measure (SEAM™).
