TPITOS Reliability Training

Become certified in TPITOS to ensure fidelity to the Pyramid Model

TPITOS™ is an essential tool for ensuring that infant–toddler teachers are implementing the Pyramid Model with fidelity. This expert-led training shows attendees how to use TPITOS to measure how well their program’s staff is fostering responsive, nurturing relationships with children and promoting strong social-emotional development. Participants who successfully complete the training and meet reliability standards will receive a certificate indicating their status as a certified TPITOS assessor.

Who should attend?

This TPITOS training is for individuals who are very familiar with the Pyramid Model and want to know how the model can be implemented in infant–toddler settings (see Prerequisites below). Attendees should have experience working in or supporting teachers in infant–toddler care settings. The training is ideal for mentor teachers, master teachers, or coaches; early childhood training and technical assistance providers; mental health consultants; education coordinators; PBIS coaches; center directors; program supervisors. Please note that this is an intensive workshop that requires prerequisite knowledge, preparation, and participation in the entire training.

What you’ll learn

During this 2-day training, attendees will learn

  • how to use the TPITOS tool, with a focus on key definitions and scoring guidance
  • how to score the indicators
  • how to observe and interview, based on a 2 ½ hour video
  • how to score TPITOS to check for reliability with the gold standard score

If you complete the workshop and meet reliability standards, you will receive a certificate indicating that you’re a certified TPITOS assessor.
