Kim Kennedy believes the most resourceful and knowledgeable learners are those who help one another transfer and generalize information. To help her third-grade students reach this level, she demonstrates a strategy and then has students practice so they can eventually utilize those strategies on their own and during collaborative activities. Other supports include: using mnemonic devices, other memory strategies, and opportunities for specific practice.
